Poros, located in the Saronic Gulf, is a small traditional Greek island mostly visited by tourists for its history, picturesque town and beautiful beaches.
The island is a very popular sailing destination with people sailing from all over the world.
By renting a boat you can explore the coves and bays of the island difficult to be reached by car or foot. The secluded Love Bay is worth visiting. Another beautiful beach is the sandy Mikros Gialos.
Poros Town, located on the east coast of the island, is a lively place with lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants along its narrow streets. The clock tower overlooking the harbour is a local landmark worth visiting.
Just above the town of Poros there is a grove of lemon trees that visitors can wander through the trees, picking lemons and enjoying the tranquil setting. In the north part of the island, in Palatia, there is the ancient Temple of Apollo.
For those interested in religion or art the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi will offer stunning views of the sea and beautiful frescoes.
