Skiathos harmoniously combines relaxation and entertainment as it can offer visitors tranquility in wonderful beaches with azure waters as well as a vivid nightlife scene. For this reason it is an island preferred mostly by young people.

The island has a cosmopolitan vibe. The picturesque harbor adds to that quality as it shelters yachts from all over the world but also local fishing boats.

One of the most famous beaches is Koukounaries or Chrysi Ammos and is considered the third best beach in the Mediterranean. There you can do water sports or rent a boat to explore the island’s beaches that are difficult to reach by car. In short walk from the beach there is a small lake that visitors can explore as a short break from sunbathing. In summer daily boat trips can take you to Lalaria beach and the ruins of the Medieval Castle which is also available through a track path. Banana beach offers shelter for naturists in a small bay next to the main beach.

The main town of Skiathos with the cobbled streets and the white-tiled houses has traditional style. When the sun sets it becomes lively, with young people visiting its bars to party and listen to their favorite music. Parties are also very popular in the area of Ammoudia where people party in open air clubs.
