Tinos is an island with religious significance, picturesque villages and sandy beaches.

Traditionally Greeks have been travelling to Tinos to visit the Panagia Evangelistria (Assumption of the Virgin Mary) Orthodox church that is believed to do miracles for its pilgrims. This church gave fame and characterized the island of Tinos. As a results Tinos is not an island that you visit for its nightlife, as opposed to Mykonos which is a neighboring island only 20 minutes away by ferry. Tinos’s atmosphere is spiritual and visitors aim to relax and reflect on themselves.

Tinos is the ideal place of holidays for those interested in hiking. A network of paths is connecting all the villages of the island. You can have an enjoyable walk in nature while exploring all of them. The villages of Kardiani, Ysternia, Pyrgos, Volax, Arnados, Kalloni and Komi are of great beauty and should not be missed.

Its beaches are sandy, making them ideal for families. They offer shelter from the heat and relaxation. The most notable are Agios Romanos, Agios Fokas, Agios Sostis and Kolympithra.

During summer there are various religious and culinary festivals such as those of Artichoke, Raki (a local alcoholic beverage) and Honey that could keep visitors in touch with the local element.
